Cookie Policy

Statwell uses the cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure, and an analytics cookie only if you accept it. No advertising cookies.
The cookies Statwell sets
Statwell sets strictly necessary cookies once you sign in: without them you could not stay signed in or reach your subscription. It sets one analytics cookie only if you accept it (below). None is used for advertising or for tracking you across other sites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
sb-…-auth-token | Purpose:Keeps you signed in to your Statwell account. Readable only by our server, sent only over HTTPS. Large sessions are split into numbered parts (…-auth-token.0, .1). | Duration:Until you sign out, or until the session expires |
sb-…-auth-token-code-verifier | Purpose:Protects a sign-in with Google or an email link while it completes. | Duration:Minutes, during the sign-in |
sw_admin | Purpose:Signs Statwell staff in to the editorial tool. Never set for readers. | Duration:Until sign-out, or 7 days without a visit (30 days at most) |
Analytics, only with your consent
We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which uses no cookies and no other storage on your device and does not identify you. We use no advertising, social media or retargeting tags. Fighter portraits are loaded from ESPN’s image servers, which set no cookies.
With your consent, we also use PostHog (hosted in the European Union) to understand how people use Statwell: which pages lead to an account or a subscription, and recordings of visits in which everything you type and the text of the Intel analysis are hidden. Nothing is recorded on the sign-in, sign-up, password, account or upgrade pages. PostHog is not loaded at all until you accept; if you decline, nothing is sent to it (see the Privacy Policy).
| Cookie or storage | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
ph_…_posthog, ph_…_posthog_cpm | Purpose:Cookies, only if you accept: recognise your browser between visits for PostHog analytics, and link visits to your account identifier when you are signed in. A copy is kept in your browser's local storage. If you decline or change your mind, they are deleted from your browser. | Duration:One year |
sw-intel-interval | Purpose:Session storage, not a cookie: remembers whether you chose monthly or every 3 months on the pricing card, so the subscription page opens on the same choice. Strictly necessary. | Duration:Until the tab is closed |
sw-analytics-consent | Purpose:Browser storage, not a cookie: remembers your answer to the cookie banner, so it is not asked again. Strictly necessary. | Duration:Until you change it or clear your browser data |
sw-language | Purpose:Browser storage, not a cookie: remembers the language you chose for Statwell's pages (English, Russian or Portuguese), so we never suggest a different one. It is never sent to our server. Strictly necessary. | Duration:Until you change it or clear your browser data |
sw_analytics | Purpose:Cookie: the same answer, for our server, so that events it records about your account (a sign-up, a subscription) follow your choice too. Strictly necessary; it holds nothing but "granted" or "denied". | Duration:One year |
ph_…_window_id and other ph_… entries | Purpose:Session storage, only if you accept: lets PostHog tell your browser tabs and visits apart. | Duration:Until the tab is closed |
Consent
Strictly necessary cookies do not need consent under EU and UK rules. The analytics cookie does: Statwell asks first, with a banner offering Accept and Decline as equal choices, and sets nothing for analytics until you answer. You can change your answer at any time with “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.
Paddle checkout
When you open the checkout to subscribe, Paddle’s payment window loads from Paddle’s servers. Paddle, the Merchant of Record for all our orders, may use its own cookies there for payment and fraud prevention, as described in its Privacy Notice. Nothing from Paddle loads before you open the checkout.
Controlling cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the sign-in cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in. Questions: contact@statwell.io.
